Accommodation in Ulverstone, Gunns Plains & Leven Canyon

Zeehan, Rosebery & Tullah

ZEEHAN: A geologist's mecca. With a population of 800 Zeehan is not quite a ghost town but its ghosts are everywhere along its main street. See and explore grandiose buildings of Victorian days that are being restored to when it was a major mining town for gold, silver, lead, and tin and a place for the piners and successful gold panners to spend their hard-earned money. The old Gaiety Theatre is slowly being returned to its original glory and is occasionally host to contemporary arts and culture events, and Zeehan's West Coast Memorial Pioneers' Museum is a showpiece and a mecca for anyone professionally interested in the technology and sociology of such a town.

Located at the end of the main street, the Spray Tunnel provides a scenic walk through a one way 100m abandoned train tunnel. A fully boarded path goes through the tunnel and a picnic area is available at the entrance of the tunnel.  When walking through it is recommended to take a torch.
