Relaxation at Cradle Mountain
While on our last trip to Tasmania we spent a night at Cradle Mountain, stopping off at Waratah on our way. The picturesque waterfall in the centre of Waratah was gorgeous and a new track allows you to walk down to the base of the waterfall to fully enjoy the scenery. We then travelled to White Hills Lookout (a short drive out of Waratah) to take in the breathtaking views of the Tarkine. It was an eerily still day and just an absolutely amazing lookout.
We then continued back to Cradle Mountain where we stayed in a Pencil Pine Cabin at the Cradle Mountain Lodge. These refurbished cabins were so comfortable and modern. It is certainly all about relaxation at Cradle Mountain.
We had the luxury of using the Sanctuary at the Waldheim Spa (very highly recommended!) to cap off our day, followed by dinner at the Lodge Bistro.
The following day we enjoyed two short walks, the King Billy walk and the Enchanted walk. Both were very easy walks, but the scenery was spectacular. The snow capped mountain was just beautiful to look at.
If you haven’t been there, I would definitely recommend getting yourself to Cradle Mountain, it is such a beautiful place and you will leave there feeling refreshed and relaxed.

A weekend in Strahan
My partner and I spent a fantastic weekend in Strahan recently. We stayed at Franklin Manor, a gorgeous boutique Guest House with such warm hospitality and one of the best meals I have had in a long time in their on-site restaurant.
We spent the following day cruising the majestic Gordon River from the upper deck of the Gordon River Cruises, complimentary Tasmanian cheese and wines, a buffet lunch including Atlantic salmon from Macquarie Harbour and a tour of Sarah Island made for a relaxing and magical day. We spent the remainder of the afternoon with a drive to Ocean Beach, the longest beach in Tasmania reaching over 30kms, then finished the day with a delicious meal of duck at Risby Cove.
Our weekend was unfortunately over and it was time to head home, we called into the local bakery for a coffee on our way out of Strahan and to our suprise even the coffee tasted great!
